Michael H. Schipp

Biography

Michael started his aviation career in 1978 with enlistment into the US Army. He Served 6 yrs. as a Helicopter Technician and honorably discharged as a specialist class 4 in 1984.

After dabbling in the medical field and a stint as an Armored Truck Driver in NYC, Michael returned to his love of aviation in 1988 and joined the General Aviation industry as a technician with Richmor Aviation Inc, a well-established Charter/Management company located in NY. He held roles of Learjet Lead. Astra lead and Cessna 650 Lead and was moved into the role of Senior Mx Coordinator for a fleet of 30+ jets and worked many aircraft acquisitions and sales in the role of project coordinator and consultant.

In 2002 Michael resigned from Richmor Aviation and went to Cessna Aircraft Company’s NY Citation Service Center. He started as a maintenance supervisor then in 2005 was promoted to Maintenance Manager. Michael led a department averaging 62 technicians, 6 supervisors, and a line crew of 6 men. Michael participated in numerous leadership courses, was awarded many awards and citations, and worked on his degrees in both business and aviation maintenance technology.

In 2010 Michael left Cessna and was hired by a privately owned GA company by new owners who requested him to consult and assist with the reorganizing of their workforce, increase their billing efficiency and labor utilization, all in an effort to establish the company as a profitable organization. Once this was accomplished, in an admirable turn of events, the company was sold to the employees in mid-2012.

In June of 2012 Michael returned to his aviation roots with Richmor Aviation. His role with Richmor was Sales and marketing for their 2 Maintenance Repair Stations and the role of Special Projects Manager. The majority of Michaels’ time was spent marketing Richmor’s two FAA certified repair stations, traveling to meet prospective customers, and attending numerous aviation organizational events. In between these tasks Michael works directly with the VP of Maintenance on company projects.

 

In Jan 2015 Michael took the opportunity to work with a global machine manufacturing company (MPI INC.) utilizing 6 axis robots. Michael’s role was Global Service Manager for machines located in 47 different counties. He managed a team of 4 world traveling technicians dispatched from New York , A scheduler/Dispatcher, Administrator Assistant and numerous maintenance contractors in other parts of the world ( China, Japan, UK, Ireland, Russia, India, Mexico, Etc.)

IN Oct 2018  Michael Retired from MPI, Inc and tried the retired life until 2021 when he decided to go back into the Business Jet Industry as an Aviation Maintenance consultant working aircraft acquisition maintenance events, Large Scheduled Maintenance events, Interior upgrades, and fresh paint upgrades
